Musicartistry has existed since 2002. Michael Renk, still being the head of the label, laid
the foundation for what wasn't explicitly planned as a netlabel, but what basically had the same ideas: He wanted
unknown artists to be able to display their work to the public. This included works of art as well as music. Hence
the name of the project: Musicartistry - a combination of music and art.
Of course, the rapid growth of the netlabel-culture left its marks on us: In 2004 we discontinued
the "art"-section of the website and reworked the concept of the remaining "music"-section. October 2004 saw the
re-launch of "Musicartistry Recordings", now truly deserving its name, under the new motto
"Electronic Diversity". After the re-launch, Michael Renk started to work together with Julian
van den Boom, a translator from Cologne, who helped translating all text material from the site into English. This
step was necessary to make the site accessible for international markets. In 2005, Musicartistry started a
collaboration with "electronic-lounge.net", a platform and forum for electronic music. Head of
"electronic-lounge.net", Sebastian Reuschel, supports the label as an advisor, manager and coverart-designer. Up
to today, the label is constantly changing and developing: New ideas, projects and improvements are waiting to
become reality, some of them already introduced, some of them projects for the future.
